Try meditating on springtime and the feeling of coming alive

Here where I am in Albuquerque it is springtime, and that there are hot-air balloons in the sky most mornings, and the trees have beautiful blooms on them. The coming of spring is associated with the awakening of nature. There are flowers springing from the ground, and on tree branches, green begins to appear. Animals reproduce (“kitten season,” anyone?), and there’s often a bit more warmth in the air.

I’m a licensed mental health counselor who enjoys sharing mindful meditations and information about mindfulness. Below is a transcript of a meditation I led on this topic, and at the end of the article, you’ll find a link to the meditation video. In this guided meditation, we reflect on the “newness” of spring. This can help us to connect with the world around us and maybe evoke or cultivate a sense of hope and coming alive in you as well. Let’s get started.

Let’s settle into a time of meditation, a set-aside time to reflect and be with ourselves. If you’d like to close your eyes as I’m going to do you’re welcome to do that, but if you want to have them open that’s fine too.
