As we head into the holiday season, I’ve been talking with friends and family about how we’ll handle traditional family gatherings, such as Thanksgiving. There’s a lot we can’t do this year, and that’s painful to consider. I published a guided meditation on loss and acceptance, where we explore the grief we feel over what we can’t do for Thanksgiving this year, and then move to a place of acceptance and possibility. Below is a transcript of the meditation, and there’s a link to the video at the bottom of the article.

Meditation Transcript

As we head into the holiday season it is a different holiday season than we have ever experienced and so we can explore what is going on within us as we consider what the upcoming holidays may hold. What’s possible and what’s not possible, and allowing ourselves to feel what we feel and come to a place of peace about where we’re headed. So I’ll invite you to close your eyes if that’s comfortable for you. Otherwise you can just gaze lightly downward.

We can take a deep breath to create a clearing for consideration.
