You probably have a pretty good morning routine filled with healthy habits, but what happens when you sit down to work? Do you dive right into your e-mail or a task on your to-do list without a second thought?

What if you took a few minutes to get settled, focus your thoughts, and be intentional about how you want to show up for your work? Join me in this 9-minute guided meditation where I offer some suggestions for the start of the workday. And then create a little routine that works for you. Pair it with habits you already have when you sit down at your desk, and it’ll be part of your routine before you know it. At the end of the article, you’ll find a link to the meditation video.

Meditation Transcript

I’ll invite you to find a posture. Alert and relaxed. You can close your eyes if that’s comfortable for you. Take a couple of deep breaths…. Notice the abdomen and see if — with each out-breath — you can allow the tightness in the abdomen to relax and melt away, generating a sense of relaxation, physically. We may or may not feel calm in our minds at this moment, but we have the ability to relax our bodies and notice what that feels like.
